Absolutely, there are people who use their acoustic guitar in an electric guitar amp. Whether they do it for convenience, because they don?t want to or can?t afford to buy an acoustic specific amp, or if they are actually looking for a certain sound, depends on the individual guitarist that is doing it.

Yes you can. Electric and acoustic guitars are still just guitars. And though both are evolving over time, they have not evolved enough that they are fundamentally distinct from each other. So if you can play an acoustic, you should be able to play an electric as well. But the world of guitar playing is a big one, with lots of specific disciplines.

Yes, a regular electric guitar amp will work just fine for an acoustic-electric guitar. TIMOTHY April 7, 2018 at 5:54 am - Reply What I was looking for is quite different from what I’m seeing here but you know acoustic guitar don’t need amplifier or electrons to give audible sound while electric guitars make use of electrons or amplifier before they produce sound….

4.Acoustic vs Electric Guitar – Playability Acoustic guitars are often considered harder to learn. This is due to the strings being heavier and the height of the strings being higher than standard electric guitars. You only really notice this for the first few months of playing, after this your fingers adjust and become stronger.

If you can play something on a steel-string acoustic guitar, you'll be able to play it without any problems on an electric, something that cannot be said vice versa. Many people (your household) will prefer the naturally soothing, calmer tone of the acoustic over the distorted, amplified electric.

An acoustic-electric guitar can be played plugged as well as unplugged, whereas an electric guitar can only be played when it is plugged in. Lots of adjustments have to be made on electric guitars before playing, but acoustic-electric guitars are easy to use and simple to play.

Yes, you can plug an electric acoustic into an electric guitar amp. However, electric guitar amps are designed to color the tone and add distortion. Whereas, acoustic guitar amps are designed to produce a transparent signal and enhance the full spectrum of frequencies of an acoustic guitar.

Acoustic guitars would actually work better compared to electrics when plugged into keyboard amps. Firstly, acoustic guitars with piezo pickups and both passive or active electronics are intended for PA systems or possibly specialized acoustic guitar amps. In the case of acoustic guitars, most of the tone is shaped within the guitar itself.

Acoustic-electric players have become so accustomed to the tiny, tinny sound of a standard piezo pickup, but the Maton’s piezo delivers a full-range sound that goes all the way down to 20Hz. The tone is balanced and super responsive, so you can play very delicately. Maton’s preamp system is very high output; it’s got a lot of juice.
